Railway Projects: China Power Construction Corporation (PowerChina) is collaborating with India's L&T to build the railway infrastructure project in Oman, with CRRC Yangtze River supplying the freight trains. This project is the Gulf region's first cross-border railway network, aimed at enhancing logistics efficiency between Oman and the UAE and promoting regional connectivity.
Photovoltaic (PV) Power Stations:
  • In the UAE, the Al-Dhafra PV power station, constructed by Chinese companies, can meet the electricity needs of 200,000 households and reduce carbon emissions by approximately 2.4 million tons annually.
  • In Oman, the Ibri PV project is the largest renewable energy project undertaken by Chinese companies in the country, capable of supplying electricity to 50,000 local households.
  • LONGi Green Energy is involved in the construction of several PV power stations in Saudi Arabia's Red Sea New City and Neom City.
New Energy Vehicles
Market Expansion: Chinese automotive brands such as BYD, XPeng, Changan, NIO, and GAC are actively expanding into the Middle East market. In the first half of 2024, China exported 420,000 passenger vehicles to the Middle East, a year-on-year increase of 46.2%, with new energy vehicles accounting for 19.6% of the total. The Middle East has become the largest export destination for Chinese automobiles.
Financial Cooperation
Investment and Capital Linkage: In December 2024, the "Invest in China" Middle East Special Promotion Event was held in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Forty Chinese companies from fields such as new energy, advanced manufacturing, biomedicine, and information technology engaged in对接with over 70 Middle Eastern sovereign wealth funds and investment institutions.
ETF Product Listings: ETF products invested in China and the Saudi capital market have been listed on each other's stock exchanges, further promoting financial connectivity.
Other Fields
Manufacturing and Industry: Companies such as China Construction, Lin Yang Energy, Jie Yang Steel Structure, Jereh Shares, Baosteel Shares, Sungrow Power, Jinko Solar, TCL Zhonghuan, Envision Technology, and Hainan Mining have successively won bids or signed cooperation projects in the Middle East.
Energy Storage Projects: In Saudi Arabia's Red Sea New City, Chinese companies are constructing the world's largest off-grid energy storage project, which, combined with photovoltaic power generation systems, will enable the entire Red Sea New City to use green electricity.
These businesses and projects reflect the deep cooperation between Chinese companies and Middle Eastern countries in infrastructure, new energy, finance, and other fields, and demonstrate the common goals of both sides in economic diversification and sustainable development.
